Donegal County Council has commenced the development of the Barnesmore Gap Greenway project. Public Consultation forms an important and central element of the planning and design process, and as such, during the design process, the project team will hold a number of stages of non-statutory public consultation. These consultations may be a combination of in-person public information events and/or publication of elements of the scheme electronically for comment.

First Non-Statutory Public Consultation – Study Area, Constraints and Opportunities

The project is currently in the initial Concept & Feasibility Stage, which involves the identification of a Project Study Area and the key constraints and opportunities located within. The purpose of this public consultation is to inform the public of the project and to invite feedback on the current Study Area, the constraints identified and any other features/opportunities that the Design Team should consider.

Donegal County Council are now inviting the residents of the Donegal Town and Ballybofey/Stranorlar areas, members of the public and other interested parties to participate in a non-statutory public consultation on the Study Area, Constraints and Opportunities for the Barnesmore Gap Greenway Project from Friday 17th February to Friday 10th March 2023. Your participation in this consultation is important and we would value any feedback which you think should be reviewed by the project team to help inform the development of the project.
