Public Consultation 3

Donegal County Council now invite residents of the Donegal Town and Ballybofey/Stranorlar areas, members of the public and other interested parties to participate in the third non-statutory public consultation for the Barnesmore Gap Greenway Project. This consultation will run from Friday 17th November to Friday 8th December. Your participation in this consultation is important and we would value any feedback which you think should be reviewed by the project team to help inform the development of the project.

The project is currently nearing completion of the Phase 2 (Option Selection) process, and an Emerging Preferred Route Corridor has been identified. A number of potential route corridors which were subjected to Stage 1 – Project Appraisal Matrix were presented. This stage has now been completed, having considered feedback received from our previous consultations. These options have also been subject to a further detailed assessment in accordance with the TII Project Manager’s Manual for Greenway Projects, TII Project Appraisal Guidelines and the Department of Transport’s Transport Appraisal Framework. The purpose of this public consultation is to inform the public of the option selection process and to invite feedback on the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor.

To facilitate this, two in-person public consultation events will take place in Donegal Town and Ballybofey as follows:

  • Jackson’s Hotel, Glenfin St, Ballybofey, Donegal, F93 RD40
    Monday 20th November 2023: 12:00 – 20:00
